Procedure To get MSME Registration Certificate In India

It gives recognition to the MSMEs and helps them to obtain many benefits of the government which are available for the MSMEs. In order to get an MSME registration certificate one needs to apply for the same through the official MSME portal of the government of India. There are a number of benefits which are available for the MSMEs but one can avail them only after getting registered as MSME and having that certificate of registration. Without having an Udyam registration certificate one cannot get the advantages of the government as an MSME. 

Understanding MSME Registration 

MSME Udyam Registration is the process via which Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises register on the official MSME portal. This registration facilitates the identification of MSMEs inside the market. To benefit from the various benefits that the Indian government provides or has provided for the fundamental components of MSME registration, registration is required. It is quite difficult to tell a company that is an MSME from one that is not without this registration. Therefore, it is advised that MSMEs’ owners register on the MSME portal. 

Understanding MSME Registration Certificate 

Once the applicant submitted the application for the registration of the MSME it will be verified by the department of micro, small and medium enterprises. If everythings finds appropriate and the application is attached with the proper documents, the department of MSME will issue a certificate of registration for the MSMEs. This certificate is known as the MSME registration certificate. Generally it is sent to your email id by the competent authorities once the process of registration is completed but if in case you didn’t get the mail you can download it from the official website of the MSME. 

How to get an MSME Registration Certificate in India? 

To get the MSME or Udyam registration certificate follow the steps given below: 

  • Make sure your company meets the investment and turnover requirements to be classified as a Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprise.
  • Visit the official Udyam or MSME Registration portal or website of the government of India 
  • Select the “For New Entrepreneurs who are not yet Registered as MSME” option.
  • Provide your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the name as mentioned on the Aadhaar card.
  • Validation of the OTP is required, which is sent to your registered mobile number by the competent authorities 
  • Fill in the required details about your business, including PAN, business name, type, and address.
  • Select the appropriate category (Micro, Small, or Medium) and provide information on the total investment in plant and machinery or equipment.
  • Provide scanned copies of every document that the registration authorities have requested you to upload. 
  • Review the entered information, make corrections if needed, and submit the application.
  • Upon successful submission, an acknowledgment containing the Udyam Registration Number will be generated.
  • The Udyam Registration Certificate can be downloaded from the Udyam Registration portal using the Udyam Registration Number.

Documents Required to get Certificate of MSME Registration 

In order to complete the procedure of obtaining MSME registration certificate one needs to attach the following documents with the application for MSME registration: 

  • Provide the 12-digit Aadhaar number of the business owner or authorized signatory.
  • Send in a scanned copy of the business owner’s or an authorized signatory’s PAN card.
  • Furnish a document serving as proof of the business address, such as utility bills or rent agreement.
  • If the business is registered, provide the registration certificate issued by the appropriate authority.
  • Submit a canceled cheque or the first page of the passbook reflecting the business’s bank account details.
  • Describe the main activities and the nature of the business.
  • Specify the total amount invested in plant and machinery or equipment.
  • Mention the total count of employees engaged in the business.
  • Choose the applicable social category (General, SC, ST, OBC) for the business.
  • Entrepreneurs Memorandum Part II is optional for businesses willing to file it.

How to Download MSME Registration Certificate? 

After completing the entire process of MSME registration, if you didn’t get the certificate of registration on mail, you can download it after following the steps given below: 

  • Following the registration process described above, you will see the option to “print certificate” on the right side of the homepage. 
  • Select the available option by clicking on it. 
  • Use the cellphone number and the udyam registration number you received after registering to log in.
  • Your cellphone number will receive an OTP for verification purposes. 
  • Finish the login process by entering the OTP. It is imperative that the mobile number you input here is linked to your Aadhaar number. 
  • Finally, select the option to validate the OTP and print. 
  • Following that, you will receive the online Udyam registration certificate.
